Dog Harness Types
Dog Harness Topic Paper While nothing will ever replace a dog leash, the dog harness has become more prominant within the last ten years.
The dog harness is being utilized more so in specializing certain areas. There is the no pull harness , muzzle harness, and standard harness that fits around the front shoulders of your animal. Many people are feeling that this is somewhat more humane and comfortable for their dog (or cat).
Harnesses are being used to secure your pet in your vehicle while you drive. The same way that children are being secured in seats we are doing the same thing for our animals. Dog harnesses are also being utilized for therapeutic means. Sling type dog harnesses are being used to help animals when they're having problems walking. One such harness, the Bottom's Up Leash, actually supports the rear end of your dog. Many people are now feeling that the harness is simpler, more effective, any easier to use than standard leashes. Realistically nothing will replace the standard leash. But the increase in sales of harnesses has grown tremendously.
When the first harness was used, generally it was smaller animals who may felt would experience neck strain if a collar and leash was used on a small neck. Now we are knowing that even larger dogs can be restrained with a harness. Consequently problems with the neck are declined due to the use of harnesses. Many harnesses are now considered "designer " harnesses. They can be purchased in various colors, styles, material, and personalization. As more and more people become aware of problems that can be connected to a front and leash and collar I think that the harness will become more and more prominent as effective and efficient ways of walking our pet's.

[More] Ms. Jackson - Trafford PA | "Before I purchased your dog leash I did not foresee Larry taking any long walks anytime soo, or short ones for that matter. Life has certainly changed for the two of us since I bought your dog leash a few months ago. I started Larry off on a small physical therapy schedule that I made up myself. We started walking around the backyard and within a few weeks I was able to get him to walk around the block - we are now up to about a half-mile. This dog harness has been wonderful for him and for me too - I lost seven pounds;-)" [More] Cleo - Miami | "The dog leash has turned out to be a wonderful thing! Pepper has had a difficult recovery from last week's back surgery, and cannot yet use his hind legs, but with your leash, he is getting a lot of exercise of his front legs and maintaining upper body strength." [More] L. Lambros - New Jersey | "Your dog harness is one of the best purchases I have ever made for my pet. The harness has given us hope.
